Capt. Manu Mahajan, Advisor to the Academy Management, has around forty years of experience in the merchant navy and connected professions. He was in command on cargo ships between 1991 and 2007. A Member of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers London in 1988, Capt. Mahajan has sailed on general cargo ships, bulk carriers, deep sea tugs, bulk carriers, container ships, OBO's, Ro/Ro vessels, Car Carriers and specialised ships, amongst others. He has worked as Cargo Superintendent in South East Asia for a Norwegian company, and is Editor and columnist at Marex Bulletin and Maritime Matrix today, industry magazines published out of Mumbai. He has worked as an independent Marine Consultant and has, in addition, headed the Indian arm of a US software development and training company for two years. His professional articles have appeared online and offline in industry magazines and newsletters, including in Lloyd’s List, Shiptalk, GlobalMet and company newsletters.
Capt. Trivaskar Vinod Rao has had distinguished service with the Indian Navy for 16 years as a Deep Sea Diver, he is the first Indian Navy personnel to carry out Saturation Diving on Indian know-how basis for which he was awarded the Nau Sena Medal (NM) (Gallantry) by the Government of India. He is the first sailor to participate in the first national Kayaking and White water Rafting event held in Srinagar and river Ganges respectively.
Post retiring from active Indian Naval service, Capt. Rao cleared second mate (FG) from India and Master Mariner (FG) from Southampton UK. He has sailed on various types of ships such as bulk, crude oil, product carrier, obo, log carriers, and container ships. A qualified trainer and assessor, During his career at sea he has undergone many value-added courses. Has taken over the responsibility of Captain Superintendent at CAAMN on 01st June 2019.
A Mechanical - Marine Engineering Graduate from Andhra University and a holder of MEO Class I Certificate of Competency from Directorate General of Shipping, Government of India. He has over 40 years of Experience in the International Shipping Industry and 2 years of experience as a chief engineer of a captive 14 MW power plant in UAE. He has sailed on general cargo ships, Bulk carriers, Car Carriers and Dive Support vessel (DP II), amongst others. He had taken over yard delivery of a new Panamax Bulk carrier (M.V. Asakasan) from Ulsan Shipyard and OSV Meghna from China Shipyard. He published a book "Merry Mariner" (Partridge Publications) describing his sailing experiences (This book is available on Amazon). His rich experience as a chief engineer benefits and motivates aspiring sea farers.
He joined CAAMN as a Faculty and HOD - Engineering in 2019. He has attended a number of value addition courses and is a qualified Trainer and Assessor and has undergone the Vertical Integration Course for Trainers and a number of workshops on online training tools for conducting online classes.
He completed his bachelor’s in engineering from College of Engineering, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada. On completion of engineering bachelor’s degree, he joined Marine Engineering Training (GME) from D.M.E.T., Mumbai. He sailed in ships for about 20 years in different categories from fifth engineer to Chief Engineer. He sailed as Chief Engineer for 7 Years. He worked as Head of the Marine Engineering Department in Mohamed Sathak Engineering College, Kilakarai in Tamil Nadu for 7 Years. He also provides services as a O & M Contractor for Fire-fighting Equipment’s for Kakinada Seaports Limited at deep water port, Kakinada for last 20 years.
He has been associated with CAAMN for over 21 years as a visiting faculty and provided his technical expertise in setting up the Engineering Workshop when the academy converted its Deck Rating Course to General Purpose Rating Course in the year 2003. He was the HOD – Engineering at CAAMN for 3 years before moving to Mohamed Sathak Engineering College, Kilakarai, Tamil Nadu. He is a qualified Trainer and Assessor and has undergone Training for Trainers and Assessors (TOTA) Course. Also attended a number of workshops on online/virtual training for conducting online classes.
Mr. Avasarala Surya Sundara Ananta Venkata Ramana Murthy is an Electrical Engineering Graduate from Andhra University and a holder of the MEO Class IV Certificate of Competency from Directorate General of Shipping, Government of India. He has 35 years of experience in the International Shipping Industry and 5 years of experience in Industries Ashore. Joined CAAMN in 2015 as an instructor. He is a qualified trainer and assessor. He has attended many value addition courses. His experience and hands-on skills as an engineering officer give him the ability to teach ratings at CAAMN.
Chief Officer Rayani Nagaraju joined the Merchant Navy on completion of his Pre-Sea Training in the year 2005. He joined as a trainee Navigating Officer and rose to the rank of Chief Officer. He sailed on-board Oil and Chemical Tankers. He has attended many value-added courses. A qualified trainer and assessor, he has been a faculty member at CAAMN since 2015. He has been handling the simulator division at CAAMN. Apart from being a teacher, he is also an able administrator.
"Born and brought up in Virar, Mumbai. He started his maritime career as a sponsored cadet by V. Ships India Pvt Ltd and joined Tolani Maritime Institute, Pune as a Pre-Sea Cadet in the year 2009. Passed out from Tolani Maritime Institute in the year 2010 and stood 2nd in the order of merit in his batch. After completion of his Pre-Sea courses sailed on various ships and in various ranks in V. Ships. Joined MMS Co. Ltd in year 2015 and has since then sailed on various ranks in MMS ships. Appeared for all his examinations from MMD Mumbai. Presently a holder of Chief Mate FG COC and appearing for Master FG examination. Joined CAAMN in May 2020 as a faculty. Teaching has always been his passion and has carried out lots of training onboard and ashore. A qualified Trainer and Assessor and has undergone the Vertical Integration Course for Trainers.
Capt. Rajiv Kumar Mathur is a Master Mariner with over 30 years of Sailing Experience. Apart from being a seafarer, he is a man with multifaceted talents. An Academician promoting a well-established high school, practice law at the High Court of Andhra Pradesh & Telangana, management committee member of a prestigious social Club, an agriculturist, and a teacher. He also has experience as the operations manager of a logistics company. A qualified trainer and assessor, he has been a faculty member at CAAMN since 2006. During his career at sea and as faculty at CAAMN he has undergone many value-added courses.
Amar Jeet Yadav (AJY) is an Instructor for Marine Engineering Knowledge and STCW modular courses. AJY is an ex-naval personnel with 20 years of service in the Indian Navy. During his tenure in the Indian Navy, he has served in numerous Ships and Naval Establishments. In the Navy, he had held the specialization of Mechanical Engineer. He is also a qualified MOT Part A by DGS. During his tenure in the Indian Navy, he was an instructor at the coveted Indian Naval Ship Shivaji at Lonavala which is the alma mentor of all engineers of the Indian Navy. AJY has taken up teaching as a profession after retirement from the Indian Navy and has been teaching engineering and fire fighting to the trainees of CAAMN for the last 13 years. AJY has additional qualifications in MBA (Specialisation in Marketing) and is a trained Internal Auditor for Quality Management Systems. He has also completed the training for Instructors course(TOI) and attended many workshops on teaching skills.
M.G. Muralikrishna (MGM) is an Instructor for General Ship Knowledge and STCW modular courses. MGM is an ex-naval personnel with 15 years of service in the Indian Navy. During his tenure in the Indian Navy, he has served in numerous Ships and Naval Establishments. In the Navy, he had held the specialization of Radar Plotter. MGM has done teaching in the Indian navy as an Instructor for Ship Handling Simulation, Aircraft Defence Controller Simulation, Helicopter Controller Simulation, Blind Pilotage, Full Bridge Mission Control Simulation, Steering Simulation, etc. at Navigation and Direction School of Indian Navy situated at INS Venduruthy for 3.5 years. MGM has taken up Administration as a profession in a corporate school after retirement from the Indian Navy. He has been teaching as an Instructor in Commander Ali’s Academy Merchant Navy since 2005. MGM has additional self-training in Computer Applications and he is a trained Instructor from the Indian Navy. He has also completed the training for Instructors course (TOI) and attended many workshops on teaching skills.
Mr. Yarlagadda Sambasiva Rao is a competent administrator with over 15 years of experience in the Indian Navy and 10 years of experience as an instructor at CAAMN. Retired as a Petty Officer from the Indian Navy. He holds a graduation degree from the Indian Navy. Has completed the Training for Instructors Course and attended many teaching skills workshops. He has been teaching Seamanship to the GP Rating trainees and practical training instructor for STCW Modular Courses.
Tapan Kumar Nandy (TKN) is an Instructor for General Ship Knowledge and STCW modular courses. TKN is an ex-naval personnel with 15 years of service in the Indian Navy. During his tenure in the Indian Navy, he has served in numerous Ships and Naval Establishments. In the Navy, he had held the specialization of Radar Controller. He is also a qualified GMDSS Operator and Instructor. TKN has taken up teaching as a profession after retirement from the Indian Navy. He has been teaching as an Instructor in DGS-approved maritime training institutions for the last 8 ½ years. TKN has additional qualifications in Computer Applications, Call Centre & Airport management and is a trained Instructor. He has also completed the training for Instructors course (TOI) and attended many workshops on teaching skills.
He is also holding the responsibility of Management Representative for effective implementation of the Academies Quality Management System.
Mr. Thota Nagaraju (TNR) is a Faculty for Marine Engineering Knowledge and STCW modular courses. TNR is an ex-naval personnel with 15 years of service in the Indian Navy. During his tenure in the Indian Navy, he has served in numerous Ships and Naval Establishments. Later he worked as a Maintenance Engineer in Reliance info com in Hyderabad. He joined the merchant navy in 2008 as a Junior Engineer and worked in different Bulk carriers and container vessels in reputed companies like Apeejay Shipping and ASP Ship Management. By his technical and hardworking abilities, he got a chance to be part of the team taking over 04 Yard delivery vessels APJ Kais, APJ Jai, APJ Shirin, and X-Press Lhotse. TNR has taken up teaching as a profession now and has been teaching engineering and firefighting to the trainees of CAAMN. He has also completed the training for trainers and assessors course (TOTA) and attended many workshops on teaching skills.
Mr. RAM CHELA SINGH (RCS) is a retired Honorary Sub Lieutenant from the Indian Navy with 34 years of long service in the Seamanship department, served in various ships/Establishments, and got good knowledge in commanding the men in uniform. During his service in the Indian Navy performed seamanship instructor duties for 4 Years and also worked in various NCC units as a Chief Instructor. RCS joined CAAMN as an instructor for Seamanship and STCW Courses. His experience will give a lot of impetus to the academy to mend the trainees in a disciplined way of life in achieving success. He has also completed the training for Instructors course (TOI) and attended many workshops on teaching skills. He has also undergone a specialized course in Leadership and Management Cadre.
Mr. Satyanarain has retired from the Indian Navy with Engineering & Technical background after successful completion of 30 years of service. Experienced in internal combustion engines, diesel engines and having good technical knowledge in various auxiliary machinery onboard ships. Backed by military discipline years of experience in the field of Engineering and Overseeing Safety of Men/Material in Industrial/Non-industrial establishments of Indian Navy. Outstanding caliber in General Administration, Leadership, Professional Skills, and team management gained from a disciplined and well-organized lifestyle of the Indian Navy.
Shiva Nand Mishra (SNM) is an Instructor for General Ship Knowledge and STCW modular courses. SNM is an ex-naval personnel with 28 years of service in the Indian Navy. During his tenure in the Indian Navy, he has served in numerous Ships and Naval Establishments. In the Navy, he held the specialization of SONAR Controller. He has also done Leadership, Management, and Fire Fighting courses from the Indian Navy. SNM has done teaching in the Indian navy as a Leadership class and National Cadet Course Naval wings classes. SNM has taken up teaching as a profession after retirement from the Indian Navy. He has been teaching as an Instructor in DGS-approved maritime training institutions for the last 5 years. SNM has additional qualifications in Computer Applications and is a trained Instructor. He has also completed the training for Instructors course (TOI) and attended many workshops on teaching skills.
Mr. Anil Kumar Sahu. worked in the Indian Navy for 15 years and retired as a petty officer Radar Plotter 1 (PORP1). He worked as an instructor in No.3 Naval NCC, Lucknow for 2 years. He worked for Corporate GIS Company as a production manager for more than 13 years. He has also completed the Vertical Integrated Course for Trainers (VICT).
Mr. Bandari Santhosh Reddy (SRB) joined the Merchant Navy after completion of his Pre-Sea Training in the year 2005. He sailed as a Motorman and served on Bulk Carriers, Chemical and Oil Tankers as an assistant watchkeeper in the Engine Room. He has also completed his MEO Class IV Written. A qualified trainer and assessor. He has attended many value addition courses. His experience and hands-on skills as an engine room rating give him the ability to teach ratings at CAAMN.
Mr. Manoj Kumar Jha worked in the Indian Navy for Thirty years as an underwater controller, ships diver, Aircrew diver and retired as a JCO. He worked as a chief instructor for 3½ years in No.2 Naval Unit NCC, Kolkata. He also worked as Sailing Club incharge at Eastern Naval Command, Visakhapatnam for 3 years. He represented Indian Navy in various sports events and was a qualified Trainer holding the TOTI Certificate. He is the instructor for Survival Training, Physical Training, and Parade Drill at CAAMN. Apart from instructional duties, Mr. Manoj Kumar Jha is the Warden of the academy hostel and the In-charge of the Academy Swimming Pool.
Mr. Shaik Azeemuddin is a machinist by profession. Holder of ITI Fitter certificate. He has over 30 years of industrial experience in machining skills which gives him the ability to pass on the vast workshop experience to the trainees of CAAMN. He has been teaching at CAAMN since 2003. He has also completed the training for Instructors course (TOI) and attended many workshops on teaching skills.
RAMESH GOUD K (RGK) is a qualified ITI in electrical & electronics background and a specialist Welder. RGK is the core workshop instructor for imparting practical classes on electric arc welding and Oxy-acetylene gas cutting/welding and workshop Jobs for the trainees in electrical and electronic subjects. He has work experience of 15 years in Welding tasks and also worked in Mahindra and Mahindra skill plant for 2 years. With his self-acquired technical experience, he started his own business of fabrication and welding jobs in Hyderabad. He has also completed the Training Of Instructors course (TOI).
Chef Kunchala Srinivas has Twenty-five years of experience in industry and academics from 1993 to 2018. He worked as commi ll in Holiday Inn Krishna, Hyderabad from 1993 to 1996. He worked in Carnival Cruise Lines as an assistant cook in 1996 and later he worked in the world's biggest companies like Royal Caribbean, Cunard, World Disney, Costa as an assistant cook to Sous Chef Positions until 2005. He worked as Assistant Professor in the National Institute of Tourism and Hospitality Management to teach food production in Hospitality and also established labs for the institute and operated by formulating the BTK, QTK, and ATK menus. He worked as Senior food and beverage Manager and senior Operational Manager in FNCC, Film city central club at Hyderabad. Attended many national and international seminars and conferences and workshops in tourism, hospitality, and management topics. He is the HOD Catering at CAAMN and the Executive Chef of the CAAMN Galley Operations.
Mrs. Radha Reddy has completed her diploma in Business Administration (HR) and experienced manager cum trainer in HSBC from 2005 to 2010. Later she continued her passion for teaching by taking private tuitions to a different standard of students. She has been inducted as an English Language Instructor where her experience and ability to adapt to various levels of teaching standards would help the GP Ratings in developing their English Language and Personality.
